Cultural

Students are encouraged to participate and strive for excellence in a wide range of cultural activities as part of their broad-based education.

Debating Our team participates in Auckland, local and interschool competitions.

Maori Cultural Group We have a strong Kapa Haka group which practices regularly and competes in local and regional competitions.

Music Music shows and performances give students the opportunity to demonstrate their talents in front of peers. Students are also encouraged to participate in outside events such as Rockquest.

Publishing & Writing Student work is displayed throughout the school. Students play a role in publishing the school magazine. Many students have had articles or writing published in the College section of the NZ Heraldand in local newspapers.

Speeches As part of their curriculum, each Year 7-10 student delivers a speech. Senior speeches are completed through NCEA.

Performance The College offers opportunities for students to participate in performance arts. In conjunction with the local community, we stage a Wearable Arts show, which has high student participation.
