Technology

In Technology we aim to empower our learners to become creative and confident technologists and critical thinkers through intervention by design. We use intellectual and practical resources to create technological outcomes, which expand human possibilities by addressing needs and realising opportunities.

We strive to develop students understanding of the nature of technology, the way that it has and will continue to change the world around us and the potential they have, to influence and contribute to these changes in society. We focus on learning that occurs within authentic, meaningful contexts that are relevant and provide opportunities for peer collaboration that models real world practice. Students learn to be innovative developers of products and/or systems and develop the skills required to work effectively, individually or in teams.

Essentially, our aim in Technology is to broaden the students technological knowledge, practice and create a pathway that will equip them to participate in wider community and potentially on a global scale, which in turn will provide a platform for technology related careers and disciplines.
